[UNIV Reporters] Fun, Play, Learn "2018 Youth Sharing Camp"

Teenagers are really busy these days. They forgot the joy of learning something because they were suffering from various academies and exams. The study is endless and the stress of studying is increasing. Then, how do we teach your children about economics most effectively, especially the shared economy? Will the meaning and value of a shared economy be well understood if children sit down and take lessons, memorize them quietly, and take tests as we were tought?

The true value of a shared economy appears when you actually act. The value of sharing something and getting the joy of sharing it together is a joy that can never be learned in textbooks.
To effectively communicate this, the Seoul Metropolitan Government has newly launched '2018 Youth Sharing Camping'.

Previously, the Seoul Metropolitan Government's teaching of the shared economy to teenagers was instructor-led education. An educational institute visited elementary and middle schools and conducted classes for three hours. However, there were limits to teaching.
Therefore, the traditional method of collective education, which was focused on theory, has been changed into a camping method. In addition, unlike a single organization in charge of education, 5 new shared companies will be in charge of education.

It is also a day-to-day experience camp, and has greatly increased interactive education    .

On October 7, the reporter visited the first round of participation by the social vulnerable social group and carried out two programs.

In the morning, they first taught at a non-profit organization called 'BM'. The basic concepts of a shared economy were introduced through various videos, drawing children's attention. It also took children a group time to present their ideas about the shared economy through the PMI technique.

The PMI technique is the process of finding the best ideas for a concept, the best(Plus), the bad(Minus), the interesting(Interest).

At first, the children would be bored or talk without concentration, but soon they would focus on a variety of interesting media and make presentations. For boys of their age in elementary and middle school, they really paid attention to their classes. Of course, in class, there were still some kids sleeping without interest or playing cell phones, but after class, BM produced their own shared economy, Jenga, and Halligali played games with all children.

The most important time of the camp is the first time the camp begins. Children participated in later programs depending on whether they are fun or not. In this regard, the beginning of the "2018 Youth Shared Camping" was successful. The children became interested in what they learned, which led to follow-up programs. The content of the first hour showed what type of education was appropriate for children. .

After the morning program, they had lunch on the roof.

"Seoul Innovation Park" in Eunpyeong-district, where the camping took place, is a shared space where various programs are conducted. ‘Sangsangcheong’, where the camping was conducted, is an educational institution for various social innovations. Also, rooftops are now being used for shared businesses.
Eating on a well-designed rooftop like a park in the warm sun made adults as well as children excited.

After the lunch, the afternoon first program was held to share space and goods companies. Participating companies are "Hidden book" and "Dreaming attic."

"Hidden book" is a company that book sharing business by visiting libraries and outdoor libraries. They aimed the Reading books at society.
"Dreaming attic" provided students to experience sharing of play products through sharing of learning tools and board games.

The children chose their own personal preferences. However, cell phones were temporarily banned during this time.
With cell phone addiction getting worse and analogue emotions being forgotten, it was very meaningful for children to experience such outdoor activities.

Despite the rather chilly weather, the children who played hard on ‘jegi chagi(Korean traditional playing)’ took off their outer clothes and played harder.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government's '2018 Youth Shared Camping' held five times in total. It received first-come-first-served application of 2018-10.4-2018.10.28 with 30 people per session. This fall, the '2018 Youth Shared Camping' will create a turning point where children's lives can change as little as possible and as much as life.
