Last November 15, the Seongdong Sharing Center was opened in Haengdang-dong, Seongdong-gu, where people could contribute information and activities related to sharing, including objects, spaces, and skills.

 

On the ceremony day, Seongdong-gu’s officials and other gu (borough/ward) officials, along with city councilors, ward councilors, and residents, attended to send their congratulatory remarks.

 

Followed by the Eunpyeong Sharing Center, the Seongdong Sharing Center is the second sharing center in Seoul.

 

On the first floor, the commodity sharing space has about 250 kinds of 700 times that necessary for our everyday lives, allowing people to easily rent instead of buying the item. The rental cost is set at 3% of the price of the product; thus, it can be rented out at a low cost, while the rental period can also be extended.

 

Lee Jae-pil, Head of the Community Participation Team of Seongdong-gu Office, discussed, “It seems that there is a trend in which sharing is done more and more often in our daily lives. In line with this, Eunpyeong-gu initially created a sharing center, and I hope that the residents of Seongdong-gu will also build one as well.” He mentioned that they were given the opportunity to build this sharing center upon acquiring the funds from the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
